Local SHGs, CBOs and NGOs Capacity Building Program

Dhriti Foundation believes in a collaborative approach to create sustainable programs and solutions to the issues faced by various vulnerable communities. In order to create a sustainable and impactful program it becomes crucial to get involvement of local institutions like SHGs, CBOs and grassroot NGOs. There are numerous such local institutions that work as per their capacity in various communities with the help of volunteers as per their interest areas and time availability if provided with a right direction, guidance and on field support such institutions can bring sustainable solutions. 

Dhriti Foundation has empowered various such community based institutions by taking their participation in various crisis situations mentioned below. 

  1. Covid – 19 Crisis – Sanitizer Distribution and Safety Awareness Program 
  2. Covid – 19 Crisis – Food Kit Distribution Program & Community Kitchen Program For Migrant Workers 
  3. Rotary Club of Queens Necklace – Adult Literacy Program 
  4. Mumbai’s Flood and Rain Relief Program 
  5. Samvriddhi – Angel One CSR – Financial Literacy and Management Program 
  1. Covid – 19 Crisis – Sanitizer Distribution and Safety Awareness Program 

During Covid – 19 Crisis Dhriti Foundation with the help of more than 120 grassroot CBOs and NGOs worked in various communities from Mumbai’s slums to create awareness by Sanitizer distribution at home, at community toilets. Participation from local institutions was very crucial for overall distribution of over 12000 liters of Sanitizer distribution at Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Panvel, Kalyan- Dombivali Municipal Corporation, Police Departments, Banks, Government Hospitals etc. 

  1. Covid – 19 Crisis – Food Kit Distribution Program & Community Kitchen Program For Migrant Workers 

During Covid – 19 Crisis Dhriti Foundation with the help of local CBOs and NGOs distributed more than 25000 Food Kits in various slums of Mumbai focusing at Aarey Colony, M East Ward, Jogeshwari. Simultaneously DF Buldhana team at Sidkhed Raja with the help of Raheri Gram Panchayat helped more than 3000 migrant laborers with its Community Kitchen program for over 10 days. 

  1. Rotary Club of Queens Necklace – Adult Literacy Program

Dhriti Foundation with the help of Think New Foundation, Rajlakshmi Trust, Janata Jagruti Manch and Nayi Soch For Humanity conducted Adult Literacy Program at Kelti Pada, Wadala, Subhash nagar and Rafiq Nagar. This has given a lot of confidence to these organizations to design social programs and implement it. Based on this initiative Think New Foundation is running its ongoing learning center for the community. 

 

  1. Mumbai’s Flood and Rain Relief Program 

Dhriti Foundation apart from working on its core focus area of Financial Literacy, Livelihood, Education and health also gives importance to local issues falling under any disaster category.  During Mumbai’s heavy rain every time there are few areas where people suffer a lot and require help in the form of clothes and Food because of flooded houses. Dhriti Foundation with its partner grassroot NGOs and CBOs provide support to such vulnerable communities in such crisis situations. 

  1. Samvriddhi – Angel One CSR – Financial Literacy and Management Program 

Dhriti Foundation has introduced Samvriddhi Angel One CSR a revenue generating opportunities for CBOs and NGOs by providing much needed Financial Literacy and Management program which will act as a Financial Advisory support to the lower income group to manage their day to day, monthly and yearly financial managements in order to meet access credit for the important household events and avoid taking money from money lenders at a heavy interest rate. 

On the basis of the above program and the requirements of such grassroot SHGs, CBOs, and NGOs, if given access to proper training and direction to work, these institutions can create a larger impact in their communities in a sustainable manner. Dhriti Foundation has identified the core areas of expertise that need to be developed with such institutions.
